On a blue disc 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in diameter a white disc 1 3/4 inches (4.45 cm) in diameter bearing two red A's 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height.
The colors red, white and blue are the National colors. The "AA" represents "Antiaircraft."
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 18 December 1942.
